Sex Injuries After 50 Shades Released

It’s always interesting to us how sexual trends effect our lives. Take for example the polarizing influence of 50 Shades. Some stand by it with steadfast determination, some say it’s silly, other state its “abusive and dangerous” and still others claim it’s an unsafe example of bdsm to follow.

I tend to lean towards the last example as the sex play in it could indeed be dangerous if the reader gets the wrong idea or doesn’t understand there needs to be other aspects in play when bondage and pain are involved. The first book was published in 2011 and, if nothing else, lit a fire under the sexual based discussions in main stream media and the upcoming movie will likely bring that to a head.

I’m not sure if this is a causal relationship but the Washington post features an article with some data attached saying there was a measured increase in sexual injuries after 50 Shades was published.

Either way, we need to be more safe out there.

Also, for all you first time bdsm fans, remember, aftercare! (And if you don’t know what aftercare is look it up before you engage in any activities)
